Boys continue with their study of the AQA GCSE specification in each of the Sciences. Specific details are outlined on each subject page.

Boys have a number of opportunities to further their knowledge of the applications of their studies not only in lessons but with a number of enrichment activities that are organised throughout the year. The school holds the annual Institution of Mechanical Engineering (IMechE) Schools lecture each year and this allows the boys in year 10 to listen to the work of a particularly engaging and inspiring speaker.

From year 10 onwards, we encourage boys to attend our BAYS Science Forum meetings which provide boys with the opportunity to meet a range of scientists and to hear about their work. It is these such enrichment activities which we believe provide the boys with a unique opportunity to develop a good understanding of the relevance of their studies and the careers that they may wish to pursue in their futures, helping to form and cement informed choices post 16.
