The Seniors opening game of this years’ English Schools campaign was against familiar opposition. This meant despite relatively little time together prior to the game they were full of confidence as we have always had success against them.

Their negative Zone defence led to a very slow tempo for the first few minutes but scores came quite readily with some good passing in our structured attack. The match was pretty much in the bag by the end of the quarter and so the bench had a very good run out.

Dom Ellis was a welcomed addition to the team having completed his tour of duty with the 1st’s as he crashed the boards effectively. Both Grants had the hot hand and combined for 25 points, but play of the game was undoubtedly Pete Francis’s huge chase down block on their biggest player!!
