This was a very good performance in some awful conditions. One would anticipate numerous errors and a whole load of scrums, but this was not the case and both teams played a relatively tidy game.

Our defence was excellent throughout and Poole never really looked like scoring at any point. Philp scored a great try down the left wing after some good phase play and then some nice hands by the backs.

Duckett pitched in with two similar scrum half ‘sneak through the gap’ tries, one in the first and one in the second, with the latter seeing him break two tackles after his initial line break. Edmunds slotted two out of three conversions, one of which was a handy rebound off the upright.

Wade was the stand-out forward with multiple pick and drives which really helped to keep our attacking momentum.

LRD
