The U16B team have had a strong season with some notable performances in particular beating Millfield at Millfield. This weekend proved a tough challenge as they took on a large Bournemouth A team.
It was the type of game where one key player or one mistake could make the difference and as it proved. The BWS pack nullified the Bournemouth team, winning lineouts and providing good scrum ball, but it was the Bournemouth backline who did the damage.
Despite only one point being in it at half time, fatigue and mistakes slipped in during the second half as the attritional effect of tackling people bigger than you took effect. The BWS boys should be proud however of their overall team effort, this weekend and over the season as a whole.
Great thanks must also go to Doc Knight who has taken the boys every Saturday and led team sessions in the week, his input and support has been greatly appreciated and made a huge difference to the boys.
A solid season from a great bunch of boys who I hope will continue to play beyond school and within next season.
